Chess and Lyme Disease

Posted October 6, 2013.  When I had Lyme disease, Lyme symptoms and co-infections, I knew the process of recovery was going to be like a game of chess.  If I took one antibiotic the bacteria or spirochetes would be on to me and make a sideways move.  So I had to take 2 antibiotics at once, or more, or switch, or I would add in an herbal, or power down some garlic.  It’s the art of war, it’s a game of chess.  But, they can be beat.  You can fight then get up, dust yourself off and be victorious. Play a good game of chess.  Beat them.

Far Infrared Sauna and Lyme Disease

Posted September 17, 2013.  This Thursday, September 19 is a full moon.  (If you are reading this another time, everything I’m saying still applies to a full moon ahead. See article about Full Moons https://lymesymptoms.com/full-moon-and-lyme-disease/ to understand some of the thinking behind parasite and bacterial activity during full moons.)  Here is something you can consider adding to your treatment now, to take advantage of the increased pathogen activity during the full moon.

I used the Far Infrared Sauna when I was sick with Lyme disease and the co-infections Bartonella and Babesia.  I would set it to 140° and stay in the sauna for 20 minutes.  I did this three times a week.  In the beginning I could only handle about 3 minutes.  It takes awhile to work up to 20 minutes.  The Far Infrared Sauna penetrates the tissues more deeply than a regular sauna and is said to make antibiotics or herbals more effective.  There is about a 2 inch penetration of heat under the skin.  This is not true with a regular sauna.

The Far Infrared Sauna is a powerful detoxifier and immune system stimulant.

Often times spas will have far infrared saunas and you may be able to buy a package of visits from them.  It is well worth the cost!  I believe the sauna helped tremendously in my fight and ultimate victory over Lyme disease and co-infections.  The cost could be on the high side, but again, if it were me, and it was me, I would prioritize using the far infrared sauna over other expenditures.

Now, right before and during the full moon would be a good time to add in the far infrared sauna.  Get the pathogens now as they are coming out of their dormant phases.  Of course consult with your LLMD (Lyme Literate Medical Doctor) before adding anything to your protocol.  If you do not have an LLMD, make that your #1 priority.  Do not fool around with doctors who do not know about Lyme disease.

Mental Health, Junk Food and Lyme Disease

Posted August 24, 2013.  There is a recent article in Medscape entitled:

Early ‘Junk Food’ Exposure Risks

Kids’ Mental Health

Not much more to add to that.  Except, I believe junk food has the same affect on adults’ health.  Especially since it’s all laced with GMO’s.

Junk Food Lyme Disease

A “Treat” I’d Rather Skip!

If you are serious about recovering from Lyme symptoms and Lyme disease, the junk food has to be dropped post haste!  People write about “wanting a treat” and “you deserve it.”  What the h#ll?  When you eat junk food you do two things:  1. You give a treat to the lyme and other bacteria inside of you and 2.  You impair your mental health.

Sounds like a treat I’d like to skip!

Kauai, Hawaii Hiking and Lyme Disease

Posted August 22, 2013.  Life after Lyme disease, it does exist!  And you can go back to the fun things you once loved to do.  I’m on the island of Kauai, Hawaii.  Among other things, paddle boarding, surfing, swimming, etc.,  I kayaked up the Huiala River and all the way up the Wailea River. Here I am just off the kayak starting a hike  through the jungle.  Not a very glamorous picture, but illustrates the point!  Hat, long sleeves (notice white rash guard shirt to spot any critters) and bug repellant/zinc oxide sunscreen slathered all over.  (I’m in board shorts because there is a lot of swimming involved, rope swings into the river, etc. ) Every day I wake up with tons of energy and feel great.  It is possible to recover from Lyme disease, don’t believe anyone who tells you anything different!  And it is possible to return to the life you loved, albeit with ample precautions!! Stay true to your treatment.  Fight hard, that’s what I did.  100% recovery.  Stay the course.

Yummy Recovery Drink and Lyme Symptoms

Posted August 5, 2013.  Just invented this drink for one of my football buddies.  Pre-season work outs starting now and those guys are killing it on the field.  Critical to have good electrolyte replacement and high protein after workouts for maximum performance!  The same is true in the 100% recovery from Lyme disease quest.

The only caveat is that this smoothie is high in natural fruit sugar due to the frozen banana.  Factor that  into your daily total.  Shoot for less than 50 grams of carbs per day for recovery maximum.  If you are critically ill with Lyme disease right now, hold off on this one, or have it as a once a week treat.

Protein Electrolyte Smoothie and Lyme disease

Protein Electrolyte Smoothie to help conquer  Lyme disease

1 cup coconut water (make sure no added ingredients)

Handful frozen organic strawberries

1 1/2 frozen bananas

2 Tbsp Hemp Seed

Put it all in your blender and blend until smooth.  Tastes like ice cream.  Super nutritious, full of electrolytes and protein from the hemp seeds. The football players love this!

So whether you’re trying to recover from an intense pre-season football work out or whether you’re trying to recover from Lyme disease, have this smoothie!  Eat well to be well!

100% Recovery.  Every day.
