Celebrities and Lyme Disease
Posted April 10, 2013. So great that Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Yolanda Foster is bringing attention to Lyme disease! She just accepted the LRA’s Star Light Award award from the Lyme Research Alliance at their Time for Lyme Gala in Greenwich, Conn., (the video is on RadarOnline.)
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star received the honors for opening up about her ongoing battle with Lyme disease, and bringing awareness to it with her open dialogue about her illness on the show. (I must confess I’ve never watched any of those Hollywood or Housewives shows, but a lot of people do, so it’s great that she’s being so open about her Lyme disease and helping to educate.)
The more doctors consider Lyme disease as a differential diagnosis, the better. When there are Lyme symptoms and especially if there has been a tick bite, think Lyme disease.
(Remember, even if you never saw a tick, you could still have Lyme disease. I never saw a tick, never had a rash, and I was bedridden for a year.)
Thanks Yolanda for being so public about your Lyme disease, you’re helping a lot of people.
