Great Informative Comprehensive Article about Lyme and Lyme Symptoms

Posted January 17, 2013.  Check out the link below for a great summary of a conference in Phoenix, Arizona “Decoding the Mystery of Chronic Illness,” a couple of months ago.  Great comprehensive information and a good discussion of the Advanced Labs test I have referenced on this site.   Dr. Burrascano was at the conference and he talked about indirect tests for Lyme disease such as the ELISA, the IFA, and the Western Blot and how they are notoriously unreliable as they are looking for a “shadow of exposure to a germ.” One of the most exciting aspects of his talk was a discussion of the relatively new Borrelia culture test from Advanced Laboratory Services.

Advanced Labs Lyme Symptoms

The first to culture Borrelia organisms was Alan B. MacDonald MD.  And recently, Dr. MacDonald and Dr. Eva Sapi PhD worked as consultants for Advanced Labs to create a new Borrelia test. The new test is revolutionary in terms of both its specificity and its  sensitivity.   The sensitivity of the test increases the longer that the culture is observed, from 47% after 1 week to 94% after 16 weeks. Amazingly, when confirmed via DNA/PCR testing, the specificity is 100%. Existing methods of testing may have a sensitivity as low as 50- 70% and sometimes give false positives.  This isn’t the case with this culture test as it is looking for the actual bacterium and not an antibody response that would be relying on a healthy immune system. With this test, some have even been able to use a positive culture in order to get insurance coverage for their treatment.

Another important point that Dr. Burrascano made, is the importance of testing blood levels for antibiotics. For example, at low doses, Doxycycline is bacteriostatic and not bactericidal. If someone is not properly absorbing the antibiotic or the dosing is too low, the therapy is ultimately  not effective and may even promote resistant organisms.  This is critical.  If your LLMD is not getting this, he or she could be setting you up for a chronic case of Lyme disease and long term Lyme symptoms.  If you are properly treated, this does not have to be the case.

There is also a great discussion by Dr. Burrascano  about exercise and IVIG therapy.  It is a long article, so read it in parts, as you can.  Or print it out and encourage your LLMD to read it.  Make sure you’re getting the best care, the care that will get you to 100% Recovery from Lyme disease and all Lyme symptoms!

Free Test for Lyme Disease and Lyme Symptoms?

Posted January 16, 2013.  Ask your LLMD about a free test for Lyme disease from Advanced Labs.  Most Lyme disease tests are very expensive and don’t look for the spirochete itself, but instead look only for the antibodies to Lyme.  Advanced Labs is working on a second generation test and is offering the test free to Lyme patients who are not currently on antibiotics or herbals.  Ask your doctor to contact Advanced Labs for a kit.  (Unfortunately due to state regulations, this test is not available to practionners in New York.)

Do everything you can to combat Lyme disease and Lyme symptoms!  This could prove a very useful test.  And how great, it’s free.  Check the Advanced Lab website for more information.  To your good health and 100% Recovery!!

GMO’s and Lyme Symptoms

Posted January 9, 2013.  Article in today’s Wall Street Journal  “Going South Isn’t a Bad Thing at Monsanto.”  So great,  Monsanto is moving into South America for more growth opportunities.  Ugh.  “In South America, which is rapidly adopting genetically modified seeds, the company benefited both from increased volumes and from higher selling prices, as farmers “trade up” to new seed products that have more than one genetically modified trait.”

No!  Oh South America wake up.

Don’t destroy the health of your citizens with GMO seeds and foods!

And for those with Lyme disease and Lyme symptoms, please DO NOT CONSUME ANY CORN OR SOY which is not organic or labeled non-GMO!  This is a very important element in your recovery.  GMO foods will create micro holes in your intestines, interfering with nutrient absorption in the body, among other things.  Be informed and do good things for your health and 100% Recovery from Lyme and Lyme symptoms.

Invictus and Lyme Symptoms

Posted January 7, 2012.  Invictus Lyme Symptoms

At the tender age of 12, William Ernest Henley contracted tuberculosis of the bone. A few years later, the disease progressed to his foot, and physicians announced that the only way to save his life was to amputate directly below the knee. It was finally amputated when he was 17. Stoicism inspired him to write this poem. Despite his disability, he survived with one foot intact and led an active life until his death at the age of 53, which was probably considered old age at that time.

Invictus and Lyme Symptoms…..

Out of the night that covers me,

Black as the pit from pole to pole,

I thank whatever gods may be

For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance

I have not winced nor cried aloud.

Under the bludgeonings of chance

My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears

Looms but the Horror of the shade

,
And yet the menace of the years

Finds and shall find me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,

How charged with punishments the scroll,

I am the master of my fate

I am the captain of my soul.

The only thing I would add is the Colorado State Motto: Nil sine numine

I couldn’t have stayed so strong when I was so sick without God.  I know Lyme disease and Lyme symptoms are tough.  But it was stories and poems like this that kept me inspired to go all the way to the finish line of 100% Recovery. No matter how long it takes you to recover from Lyme disease and all Lyme symptoms, BeRelentless like he was!
